Anonymous asked: how much is IDGAF?
I haven’t weighed myself in a month or two, because I realized how much some stupid number upset me and it’s so not worth it. But a month ago I weighed 117lbs, so anywhere between 115-120 I’m guessing.
My personal diet consists of basically only these foods:
- Peanut Butter
- Egg whites
- Oatmeal
- Granola
- Chocolate soy milk
- Greens (any but romaine!)
- Carrots
- Grapes
- Cucumbers
- Apples
- Chicken Breast
- Scallops
- Turkey Breast
- Brown Rice
- Cliff Mojo Bars
- Oranges
- Strawberries
- Tomatos
- Peas
- Almonds
- Bananas
- Protein Powder
Sample days of meals would look like this:
Breakfast: 2 packets of plain instant oatmeal with one third cup of egg whites stirred in and truvia
Lunch: Cliff Mojo bar, apple
Snack: Almonds
Dinner: Scallops, brown rice, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, olive oil dressing
Breakfast: Peanut butter
Lunch: Salad with chicken, cucumbers, avocado, tomatoes, olive oil dressing
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Chicken breast, grilled veggies, gallo pinto (black beans with peppers, brown rice, onions, and garlic)
Breakfast: Egg white omelet with peppers, spinach and chicken
Lunch: Whole wheat wrap with peanut butter, apricot jam, coconut shreds
Snack: (I don’t eat one if I have this for lunch because it is so filling)
Dinner: Some sort of take out salad with a protein and dressing on the side
This doesn’t mean that I’m not a teenage girl who pigs out occasionally with my friends! These are just the general meal plans I try to follow, and I think a big part of being a healthy person is learning to make flexibility in your meals work. So don’t sweat the small stuff with your diet and make sure you eat enough! Treats once a week like some dark chocolate or a low fat frozen yogurt are perfect ideas to keep yourself sane. Our bodies are our temples, and we should decorate them, not sterilize them!
My name is Emma, and I’m just a teenage athlete living in Florida, two minutes away from America’s best beach(: I’m incredibly lucky to have the means to be a vegetarian and to play and train for the sport of volleyball like I do. I’m an admitted fitness freak who loves to lift weights, run, climb (ice, rock, and mountains), eat peanut butter, and worries too much about everything. I love to read and write, I know tons of random facts, and I am always open to help anyone in any way that I can!
Personally, I’m in a fine place with food. Every once in a while I eat way too much, or just a little bit too little, but I have a healthy relationship with portion sizes and vegetables. I guess my love for fitness and diet began when my best friend developed EDNOS or Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, which piqued an interest in how I could help her and how to treat my own body. Basically, it was a little bit of anorexia and with an occasionally bulimic flair. Long after she started eating again, her relationship with food was uncomfortable and angsty. I don’t really care to go into specifics about that time, but if you ever want to know more about my experience as a best friend watching that, trying to help, and ultimately feeling the need to protect her from herself, I’m just a click away.
All in all, I hope you like my blog and that I can help you in some way! I answer all non-anonymous questions privately with absolutely no exceptions.
I am also pro gay rights, pro choice, and pro whatever floats your trireme.
****I AM NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. I wish only to become a better, faster, stronger athlete and treat my body the way it deserves, but I love helping you guys with your questions and appreciate every single one of you!
